Americans Want to Drive, Not Take Mass Transit. But Government Spending Doesn’t Reflect That

The federal government is diverting transportation dollars away from the roads and bridges to “transportation alternatives” in order to transform/control how (and if) Americans are allowed to travel around the country.

The federal highway trust fund that funds our roads and bridges runs out of funds at the end of May (2015). A significant part of the problem is that 19 cents of every dollar that should be spent on roads and bridges is being diverted to things like bicycle and walking paths, scenic overlooks, and environmental pollution mitigation.

This article does such a great job of explaining why it makes absolutely NO sense to be diverting this money away from the building and repairing of roads and bridges I suggest strongly that you send it, or a link, to all of your representatives; federal, state, and local.
