Michigan Tax Assessor Attempts Interior Home Inspections
Being sure that the homes in this Michigan town were assessed correctly for taxes was the excuse used by assessors to trespass INTO the town’s homes. When some homeowners refused the assessors entry, the homeowners were punished through their wallets.
Only because these policies were created by elected officials, who could be threatened with being “unelected”, was there a happy ending. Without this happy ending, would the next bureaucrats have attempted to invade the homes to check the amount of insulation in the walls or the efficiency of the appliances?
